Brookdale leads the way in NZ with their state of the art " Fully Air Conditioned" "Thermal Wrap Indoor Rooms" which means warm in winter and cool in summer perfect for the elderly, arthritic, convalescing, and dogs that are used to home comforts. No more cold Concrete. “So clean So comfortable”.
Hygiene is important at Brookdale so a full top to bottom clean takes place twice a day with the best disinfectant available to the Veterinary profession.
All Special Needs including Medical & Dietary are catered for, including Weight Watchers, Arthritis & Diabetes. With medication records provided to the owner on check out, 24hr room service & 24hr on call vets this is all part of the Brookdale experience.
At Play Time (min 2 ¼ hr morning & 1.5 hr afternoon) guests are grouped
according to age, size & temperament. When we are not full and if all dogs are of good temperament we will run all guests together, unless
you
specially request otherwise. During these sessions ears & eyes are checked & cleaned and each guest is brushed. A trained caregiver is with guests at all times.
Music, Sun Umbrellas & Paddling Pools make holidays fun at Brookdale
Puppies are especially welcome at Brookdale.
We love you to bring you puppy especially between 3 to 4 months. This age is
very important. A window exists between 12 - 16 weeks where your puppy
will remember experiences and skills for life. This is when you puppy
instinctively learns their pack social skills from mixing and playing with older
adult dogs (under our specialist supervision). Puppy school will not do this -
puppies can't teach each other what they don't know. These social skills are
extremely important for your puppy's long term social development.
Also we ensure your puppy's first exposure to our boarding kennel is great fun and this
is important for you & your puppy’s future happiness when visiting
Brookdale. You will find your puppy will be happy to return.
Our presentation of each guest to you upon pick up is important to Brookdale, so a complimentary Therapeutic spa bath blow dry & groom is part of the Brookdale
experience. A smelly dog in the car on the way home is unheard of for Brookdale clients.
Professional Grooming & Styling is no longer available. We do not wish
to compete with professional groomers for their business - we are boarding
kennels and we pride ourselves on the fact that our guests enjoy their time at
Brookdale.

DOGGY DAYCARE is now available Monday
Tuesday Thursday and Friday. We have a number of regular guests so give us a
call to discuss your needs.
Vaccinations are your dog’s first line of defence against disease. A 5 in 1 also Lepto’ & Kennel Cough vaccinations current within the last 12 months are required prior to entering Brookdale. The vaccination certificate must be presented upon arrival prior to boarding. See our Important Checklist.
